Randall Winston

Meet Randall

Education shaped his life. Now he is fighting for the students it can still change.

Inspired by his mother, a special education teacher, and his father, the first in his family to attend college, Randall learned early that education transforms lives and strengthens communities.

He mentors graduate students, has lectured at UCLA and West Los Angeles College, and this fall joins West Los Angeles College as an Adjunct Instructor teaching Leadership Skills for the Public Sector.

As Deputy Mayor of Infrastructure and Climate Resilience for the City of Los Angeles, he leads efforts to advance environmental justice and modernize public infrastructure. Appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to lead the California Strategic Growth Council, he directed more than $1.3 billion in investments in affordable housing, community revitalization, and workforce partnerships with California community colleges.
